About GridXMaps
Offline maps, group tracking, mesh radio, and live river conditions, built for people who go where the bars don't reach.
GridXMaps keeps your group connected and your maps working deep in the backcountry. Download an area before you head out and the topo, trails, and river gauges all work with zero cell signal. Pair a LoRa radio over Bluetooth and your position, messages, and group alerts hop between devices, no internet required.
Where the data comes from
- USGS Water Services: real-time streamflow & gage height from thousands of stream gauges.
- U.S. Forest Service: National Forest System Trails, including motorized/OHV use.
- OpenStreetMap: trails and the base map (© OpenStreetMap contributors).
- Recreation.gov: campgrounds and recreation facilities.
- MeshCore: open-source LoRa mesh networking protocol for offline communication.
All sourced from free, public data. Conditions are provisional. Always check official sources and use good judgment in the field.
